For the exhibition ‘The Ornament’ I installed the carpet ‘Battlefield’. I conceived and prepared the image clusters (sign border, ammunition depot, centrepiece…) and individual forms (swirls, cartridges, crosshairs…) in my Berlin studio. Four days before the exhibition opened, I travelled to Munich with my collection of shapes. I inserted the emblems I had brought with me into the 40 square metre dark blue velour carpet that had already been delivered.
