I am Metaballicallic
The eye looks at the sphere and experiences its counterpart without making an effort. The sculpture ‘Metaballic’ shows the cross-section of the sphere itself by utilising a large number of different precious tropical and indigenous woods.
Inspired by the shape of a chandelier, the object ‘I AM’ hangs in the small chamber. Instead of the crowning light elements, the short lettering ‘I AM’ is arranged in a circle on the ‘root wood ring’. A beginning or an end is cancelled out by the principle of the circle or the sphere. The chandelier’s precious crystal chandeliers are transformed into blonde braids of artificial hair that encase the woven trunk of a pachira, a plant that is said to bring prosperity and good fortune.
