The inside of the object box shows an image, a situation that suggests a landscape in action from three added levels. Food, life, transformation, food, life, transformation, etc., a continuous fermentation carried out by millions of bacteria.
The sequence of these events could also be applied to other phenomena based on the kombucha fungus. Perhaps even immanent to the world and everything that exists in it. The object ‘primeval soup’ takes up the most diverse aspects of a complex process. Separate and yet closely connected, the different levels react in an alchemical way. Julia Neuenhausen ‘metabolises’ diverse forms and materials into the primeval soup. An inner process, a laboratory space in which complex building blocks of organic and inorganic material face each other and keep themselves alive.
It is a poetic approach to the chemical/physical process of existence that once caused the primordial soup to ferment and bubble.
