The four artists in the ‘ONE WAY OR ANOTHER’ exhibition have one thing or another in common, but above all their enthusiasm for collage and all its possibilities.
If you apply the term collage to our being, every thought process would be a collaged brain activity. This usually goes unnoticed as such. However, in the exhibition ‘ONE WAY OR ANOTHER’, the ‘collaged thinking’ of Baumbach, Godoy, Haselsteiner and Neuenhausen becomes visible to the visitor. The diverse works meander through different themes. They make use of photographic images, remove them from their context and combine them with other image carriers and materials. They are cut, painted over, alienated and embroidered, drawn, printed and glued. The versatile techniques create dreamlike shifts in the image content. Imaginary landscapes, deserted places, strange apparitions – microscopic meets macroscopic worlds. Animals, figures and faces float in poetic spaces. There are arabesque-like nature designs and pattern compilations as fictitious blueprints of life. The works shown here offer many possible associations to see it SO OR SO *, but they always show the visual world of the artists.

Big bangs on the ground floor _ YES! YES! YES! Julia Neuenhausen + Astrid Menze
19-21 June 2020
LIVE PERFORMANCES STREAMING: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75UlAVgg_gM
48h Neukölln ‘Boom’ at ZF_projektraum, Harzerstr. 91, 12059 Berlin
YES! Julia Neuenhausen + Astrid Menze
The performative installation by JA! (Julia Neuenhausen and Astrid Menze) begins with the large discharge of the black hole, which releases a pile of strange, scattered everyday remnants. In the midst of a marked ‘battlefield’, the forms are repeatedly combined, piled up, discarded and re-explored to create new states. Wordlessly and intuitively, the artists develop explosive compositions. Meanings are withdrawn and newly connoted, associative sequences or accumulations, scatterings and condensations develop a dynamic, like whirring gusts, which are then restructured. Formality replaces content and once again becomes an impenetrable tangle.
The movement between things and their possibilities builds up like a chaotic wave, which then subsides again. Depending on the state of the day and the collection of objects, the performance ends after mutual agreement.
The shop window of the ZF_Projektraum also allows pedestrians strolling past to take a look in the twilight.

Dear friends of performed research,
come to the cress conference on underground networking, taste our Marzahn herbal promenade mix, sing and whistle in our large bird song choir, say goodnight together with fox and hare and much more.
We look forward to welcoming you to our research station every day from 31 August to 6 September 2017 and letting you take part in our activities and discoveries.
As part of the ‘Temporary Art Projects Marzahner Promenade 2017’ programme, we are investigating local natural phenomena and the communication of all living creatures in the green space of the promenade. We will work on site day and night for a week on a transdisciplinary long-term performance that involves local residents and visitors.
Our experiments are continuously placed around our station throughout the week, where we can be found working. In the mornings from 11-13h and in the afternoons from 17-19h we invite artists, residents, visitors, researchers and performative surprises, where experiences, expertise and suggestions are exchanged, which may lead to new plans. INTERNAL PHENOMENA*

With the kind support of the Senate Chancellery for Cultural Affairs – Exhibition Fund for Municipal Galleries Berlin
The exhibition Internal Phenomena is dedicated to the artistic work of two generations of artists with a family background. Nine constellations are selected from the immediate environment and their respective positions are presented. The perspective encompasses the simultaneously present representatives of the generations of a now historical period of art. The predecessors of the artist friends and colleagues present here are now among the fixed points of the art coordinate system, radiant like 1P/Halley and deeply dormant like serpentine.
It is well known that there are idealistic family connections between artists through the ages. We then speak of spiritual or elective affinity. Familial concepts are an integral part of the history of art.
The question is whether there is a connection of an internal artistic nature beyond the artists’ workshops of past times, apart from the almost outdated master principle and the imprints of school master apprenticeships.
… Could it be that artists who grow up away from art as children need at least a talent or an initial spark to enter the painting stream of ‘art’, while the children of artists already have the foundation and only need to continue it to break through into a new or unique format?
In neighbouring sciences, building on what has gone before is part of the substance of what exists today. In art, however, there seem to be occasional interruptions of entire developments and their protagonists, which can later be rediscovered and called upon as key witnesses.the light conditions of the perception of simultaneous phenomena of art of one or two periods always encompass the entire spectrum and signify the division into visible and invisible.internal phenomena directs the view to the connecting factors of close and distant relatives.

Time is Now
Gallery Funke
14 August – 07 September 2013Opening: Saturday, 10 August, from 6 pm
Finissage: Saturday, 07 SeptemberIn a group exhibition opening on Saturday 10 August, TIME IS NOW brings together paintings and drawings, photographs, a video work, objects and installations by a large number of the artists represented by Galerie Funke and forms a cross-section of the gallery’s programme.
Galerie Funke’s programme aims to cross different forms of artistic expression and to create works of art that expand the boundaries of the medium: painting and drawing transcend their two-dimensionality towards three-dimensional colour spaces and enter into a connection with architecture; figurative and abstract elements overlap; lines and colours enter into a dialogue; the visual corresponds with music, sound and rhythm.
The focus is on the innovative, novel approach in the respective artistic genre as well as the examination of art history. The works of all artists are characterised by their strong reference to current social issues, new media and urban life: TIME IS NOW.
TIME IS NOW reflects the reflection of art on the temporal moment in the sense of presence and in this way includes aspects of improvisation and the performative. With new works by Carola Bark, Doris Marten, Rita Rohlfing, Barbara Rosengarth and Marcelina Wellmer, the exhibition focuses on constructive, concrete and minimalist art. Judith Ganz, Valeria Heisenberg, Heike Kelter and Katja Pudor explore the concept of painting in their works. Moments of the magical, surreal and uncanny characterise the paintings of Kirstin Rogge and Sabine Wewer. Risk Hazekamp, Ins A Kromminga and Desiree Palmen raise questions about identities, visibility and transformation in their photographs, drawings and watercolours. Birgit Huebner, Silke Koch, Julia Lazarus, Agnes Lörincz and Julia Neuenhausen playfully and symbolically integrate motifs from everyday culture, dance, fashion and current affairs into their photographs, montages and collages.
TIME IS NOW: With this exhibition, Galerie Funke is bidding farewell to its traditional premises in Willibald-Alexis-Straße in Berlin Kreuzberg. Over a period of three years, it presented the works of 26 artists in 25 exhibitions here. A new organisation is planned for the future, also in further cooperation with the artists represented by the gallery, in the form of independent curatorial work and exhibition concepts at changing locations, art consulting, public relations and art education.
The exhibition TIME IS NOW ends with a FINISSAGE on Saturday, 7 September.

Exhibition in the project spaceDeutscher Künstlerbund e.V.

https://www.kuenstlerbund.deAn exhibition as part of the European Month of Photography Berlin.
As part of the European Month of Photography, the Deutscher Künstlerbund is showing the exhibition ‘Das Eigene und Andere in der Fotografie – eine Ausstellung für Hannah Höch’ in its project space from 2 November to 21 December 2012.
The view of artistic photography in general and Hannah Höch’s view in particular shows a complexity that is realised with the artistic eye and goes far beyond mere seeing. The participating artists will present insights into numerous facets of their work in the project space of the Deutscher Künstlerbund. Filtered through the sensitivity of the authors, views will open up that tell of capturing the self in interplay with the other, even the foreign or the unknown. Despite all the variations of abstraction and scope for interpretation, artistic photography always throws the viewer back to the scale of the human being himself and thus depicts the relationship of the artist to his respective counterpart in all its diversity. The arc of time that emerges from the juxtaposition with the famous artist and long-standing member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund Hannah Höch impressively demonstrates the richness of the artistic gaze and the temporal context of the individual photographs. The exhibition was curated by Michael Jäger, Birgit Jensen and Helmut Schweizer.

Kunstraum t27
Kunstverein Neukölln e.V.
Thomasstr. 27, Berlin
www.kunstraumt27.deThe inside of the object box shows an image, a situation that suggests a landscape in action from three added levels. Food, life, transformation, food, life, transformation, etc., a continuous fermentation carried out by millions of bacteria.
The sequence of these events could also be applied to other phenomena based on the kombucha fungus. Perhaps even immanent to the world and everything that exists in it. The object ‘primeval soup’ takes up the most diverse aspects of a complex process. Separate and yet closely connected, the different levels react in an alchemical way. Julia Neuenhausen ‘metabolises’ diverse forms and materials into the primeval soup. An inner process, a laboratory space in which complex building blocks of organic and inorganic material face each other and keep themselves alive.
It is a poetic approach to the chemical/physical process of existence that once caused the primordial soup to ferment and bubble.
